Step-by-Step How to Make Vegan Pigs in a Blanket

1. Add the baby carrots to a pot of water and boil until tender but not so tender that you can poke a fork through. This will take about 10 minutes. Remove them from the water and place them in a bowl.
2. Mix together all of the marinade ingredients. Place it on the boiled carrots, then put the bowl in the fridge overnight or for at least 12 hours.

3. After the time has passed, drain off the excess marinade. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees, then line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
4. Open up the crescent roll dough, and roll it out. Add one baby carrot at the long end, then roll it up to the small end to completely cover the carrot.

5. Repeat with all the carrots and dough. Sprinkle Everything Bagel Seasoning on top.
6. Put the pan in the oven and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Tips for making Meatless Pigs in a Blanket
- If the carrots are super-soaked, you can pat them dry before wrapping to prevent soggy crescent roll dough.
- Use room-temperature crescent rolls so the dough rolls more easily without cracking. Roll each carrot from the long end of the triangle to create a tighter, more even wrap.
- Optional seasonings or flavorings, such as liquid smoke, paprika powder, or nutritional yeast, can boost savory flavor.

Storage, Freezing & Reheating
Storage: Once the vegan dogs are cooled to room temperature, store them in an airtight container and refrigerate. Eat them within 2-3 days for the best results.
Freezing: Yes—you can freeze vegan pigs in a blanket, and they actually hold up really well if you do it right. Because the fillings are plant-based, you don’t have to worry about texture changes that sometimes happen with meat. The key is to keep air and moisture out: let them cool completely (if cooked), then freeze them in a single layer before transferring to an airtight container or freezer bag. This prevents sticking and freezer burn.
Reheating: When you’re ready to eat them, you can bake or air-fry straight from frozen—just add a few extra minutes so the pastry crisps up again. They’re great for make-ahead snacks or party food, and freezing them won’t sacrifice flavor or structure as long as they’re well sealed.
