White Chocolate Latte Made Without An Espresso Machine

This White Chocolate Latte recipe can be made quick and easy without espresso or even a fancy espresso machine. It’s a great drink for cold weather or anytime you need a homemade latte. And this one’s made vegan-friendly and dairy-free!

More over Starbuck’s! There’s a new latte in town. Like my Vegan Pumpkin Spice Latte and my Skinny Vanilla Latte, this white chocolate latte is a sweet, creamy indulgence that starts with a rich, strongly brewed coffee base, perfectly balanced by silky non-dairy milk.

The star ingredient, white chocolate syrup, adds a smooth, melt-in-your-mouth sweetness that blends effortlessly with a hint of vanilla extract. The best part is, you don’t need an espresso maker!

Topped with a generous swirl of whipped cream and a sprinkle of vegan white chocolate chips, this creamy latte is a cozy, decadent treat that’s sure to satisfy your sweet tooth and warm you from the inside out.

Ingredients With Substitutions

  • Strong Coffee – add double what you would add for a normal pot of coffee. YOU DON’T NEED AN ESPRESSO MACHINE TO MAKE THIS!
  • Dairy-Free Milk – my favorite plant milk is Oat Milk. I highly recommend it for the creamiest latte ever.
  • White Chocolate Syrup – Torani is VEGAN! They have a ton of syrups to choose from if you want to get fancy!
  • Vegan Sugar – remember; not all sugar is vegan. Florida Crystals is a good, vegan-friendly brand. You could also use coconut sugar or organic brown sugar, but it may alter the taste a little.
  • Vanilla Extract – adds an earthy, nutty flavor to the syrup.
  • Optional Toppings – whipped cream and white chocolate chips.
  • For complete ingredient measurements, see the recipe card below!

How To Make A White Chocolate Latte

Step 1: Pour the white chocolate syrup, sugar, and vanilla into a large mug and stir well.

Step 2: Add your strong coffee to the mug.

Step 3: Warm your milk, then pour into the mug.

Step 4: Stir, add non-dairy whipped cream and vegan white chocolate. Serve with some vegan strawberry muffins and enjoy!

Top Latte-Making Tips

  • Use Vegan White Chocolate: Opt for a high-quality vegan white chocolate that is free from dairy, artificial flavors, and milk derivatives. Look for white chocolate chips or white chocolate syrup specifically labeled as vegan. You can also use a homemade white chocolate sauce, ensuring it’s made with non-dairy ingredients like coconut milk or almond milk.
  • Milk of Choice: Choose a plant-based milk like almond milk, oat milk, or soy milk for your latte. These options have the creamy texture necessary to complement the richness of the white chocolate. Make sure to use a milk that’s known for frothing well, as it helps create the perfect microfoam for your latte.
  • Adjust Sweetness: Vegan white chocolate tends to be less sweet than its dairy counterpart, so you may need to adjust the amount you use. If you prefer a sweeter drink, add a little extra white chocolate sauce or syrup to balance out the bitterness of the coffee.
  • Espresso Shots for a Strong Flavor: To create a bold contrast with the sweetness of the white chocolate, brew a shot of espresso or use strong coffee. This will enhance the depth of flavor in your latte and help maintain the balance with the creamy white chocolate.
  • Heat the White Chocolate Sauce on Medium-Low Heat: When making the white chocolate sauce, heat it in a small saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent it from burning. Adding the melted sauce to the milk before frothing it will create a smooth and creamy texture.
  • Froth Your Plant-Based Milk: Use a milk frother to create a creamy foam with your plant-based milk. Make sure to heat the milk to just below boiling (around 150°F) before frothing, as overheating can negatively affect the texture and flavor. The frothy milk will blend beautifully with the white chocolate.
  • Garnish for Extra Flavor: To make your vegan white chocolate latte even more indulgent, top it with whipped cream (dairy-free, of course) or a drizzle of caramel syrup. A light sprinkle of vanilla extract can also elevate the flavor profile.
