Spooky Halloween Spaghetti and Eyeballs
Halloween Spaghetti? With Eyeballs? Looking for fun Halloween recipes? Just in time for your next Halloween party, this quick and easy Halloween pasta recipe requires only 5 ingredients and less than 30 minutes to make into a bewitching Halloween treat your whole family will enjoy.
I normally don’t make anything special for Halloween, but this year I’m having my grandchildren over and wanted to make them something special.
Similar to my Butternut Squash Spaghetti for fall, this spooky spaghetti and eyeballs recipe is a huge hit for young children and a fun Halloween spaghetti recipe to make for the most amazing spooky dinner ever.
Great for Halloween parties! Even picky eaters will adore. Using only 5 ingredients that may already be in your pantry, this Halloween dinner is ready in minutes.
🧾 Ingredients
- Whole Wheat Spaghetti – whole wheat spaghetti noodles are my choice for pasta in this recipe as it doesn’t use eggs. Feel free to use any cooked pasta for this recipe including regular pasta, bow tie pasta or any creepy spaghetti you have on hand.
- Spaghetti Sauce – I prefer organic marinara sauce in this recipe but any pasta sauce will do. You can even make your own homemade spaghetti sauce if so inclined.
- Vegan Meatballs – I use Gardein Meatless Meatballs for this recipe, but you can use whatever you have available in your local supermarket.
- Vegan Cheese – you’ll cut out small circles of vegan cheese that will act as the whites of the eyes. For this you can use any vegan cheese, including vegan provolone or vegan mozzarella.
- Black Olives – black olive slices in a can are what I use for this recipe. But you can also use green olives or whatever you have in your pantry.

🍝 How to Make Halloween Spaghetti
Step 1: preheat the oven to 400F/204C or according to manufacturers instructions on the vegan meatball package. Cook the spaghetti according to the manufacturers instructions in a large pot. Drain and rinse with cold water. Place noodles back in the pot. Set aside. Heat two cans of organic pasta sauce in a small pan over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally.
Step 2: place meatballs on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or according to manufacturers instructions. In the meantime, cut small circles out of vegan cheese slices (I use a watermelon scoop as a mold) and drain a small can of olives, reserving the liquid for the leftovers you don’t use.
Step 3: about 3 minutes before they are done, remove the meatballs from the oven. Place a round circle of vegan cheese over each meatball, then top with an olive slice. Stick back in the oven for 2-3 minutes, just until cheese has melted. Remove from oven. Place spaghetti back in skillet. Top with heated spaghetti sauce, then with the cooked eyeballs. Serve on individual plates with some crusty garlic bread and enjoy!
👩🏻🍳 Tips for the Best Spaghetti and Eyeballs
- Be sure to cook the pasta “al dente”, so it doesn’t break apart when serving.
- Feel free to season your store-bought spaghetti sauce with extra seasonings, such as Italian seasoning, Italian breadcrumbs, fresh garlic and/or slices of bell pepper.
- Sprinkle with Vegan Parmesan Cheese and chopped parsley to complete the perfect dinner for Halloween night.
🌡️ Storage
Store spaghetti leftovers and edible eyeballs in separate airtight containers for up to 3 days in your refrigerator.
Freezing is not recommended.
